A statement from the select board made July 29th:
As the select board, we are sorry to announce that the Pierce pond boat launch will be open for carry-in only starting today, July 29 through the middle of September. We ask that people interested in the project make their observation times in the early evening after the daily work is complete. This will ensure that the project will not be shut down due obstruction by observers during work hours.. There will be weekly meetings with Linkel construction, engineers, the select board, Blue Hill Heritage Trust and other professionals with progress reports to be posted on the website. If you have questions or concerns about the project, please reach out to one of the select board members and we will do our best to get the answers for you. Thank you for your patience.
Last week, 8/18 – 8/22, Linkel completed weirs seven through ten, as well as weirs thirteen and fourteen. Linkel also created a pool and dam step to block fish passage into the smaller stream feeding into the weirs.
Likely the entirety of the project will be completed ahead of time which was projected for mid - September. Watch for future updates here.
