New Community Food Resource Open in Penobscot

PENOBSCOT PROVISIONS

A new community food resource has opened in Penobscot, offering non-perishables to neighbors in need. Penobscot Provisions, located at 1 Bridges Point Road (the old firehouse on the corner of Southern Bay Road and Bridges Point Road), is operated entirely by local volunteers committed to ensuring no one in our community goes hungry.

The cupboard will be open 24/7 and is available to all community members who need assistance. It is placed on the back wall of the original fire station, which allows for privacy, but is still very accessible. Parking is available in front of the fire truck doors.

The cupboard relies entirely on community donations. Residents who wish to contribute non-perishable food items, household supplies, or personal care items can put them in the cupboard. Please check expiration dates to maintain safety for others. The coordinators will also be working to secure donations/funding through other sources but hope that the cupboard will eventually be completely community run. Neighbors helping neighbors is the goal.
