Special Town Hearing and Meeting 10/10

The Town of Penobscot will conduct a Public Hearing to present six issues;

Authorization to accept grant funding from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), to complete the sand/salt shed project;

Authorization to commit from Surplus, 25% matching funds required by the USDA grant, not to exceed $300,000;

Authorization to commit from Surplus, $44,785 to contract for digitizing Town tax mapping;

Authorization to commit from Surplus, costs associated with legally obtaining the Hutchings/Hatch cemetery lot located on Front Ridge Road. There are no known owners on Town tax records;

Authorize the State of Maine to issue licenses for the sale of liquor for consumption of alcohol on the premises of properly licensed establishments in the Town, on days other than Sunday;

and Authorize the State of Maine to issue licenses for the sale of liquor for consumption of alcohol on the premises of properly licensed establishments in the Town, on Sundays.

Immediately following the Public Hearing, a Special Town Meeting will be held to vote on those issues presented as Articles.

These six Articles will be posted and available for viewing at the Penobscot Town Office, US Post Office, Northern Bay Market, and the Town’s official website, https://penobscotmaine.org/

This hearing & meeting will be held at the Penobscot Fire Department station on October 10th at 12:00 Noon.
