Veterans who will be grand marshals in the Penobscot Day parade should meet at the school by 9:00 AM on July 13. Penobscot Day is this Saturday, July 13! See the schedule to plan your day.

The day’s festivities on July 13th are as follows;

1. The day begins at 7AM at the historical society with their annual yard sale. Breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase as well as a chance to buy some delectable sweet treats at the bake sale .
2. At 10AM our homegrown parade will once again travel from just above the chocolate church to the school. This year we’ll be honoring our veterans as they lead the parade as our grand marshals. Please come and join in the fun by watching or being a part of the parade. Lineup for the parade will begin at 9:15 above the chocolate church.
3. At 11:30AM the fire house will be hosting their Chicken barbecue with all the fixings that any good cookout should have.
4. At 12:30PM the Castine town band will be doing a concert outside at the historical society. Bring a chair and enjoy the wonderful sounds of these very talented local musicians.
5. At 1:30PM come watch the dog show behind the school as Viewpoint Dog Training and Something to Wag about unleash their troupe for four legged friends for a dog thrilling extravaganza. The show includes a crowd pleasing variety of high flying canine stunts and tricks as well as a meet and greet with the furry stars of this show. Please bring a chair for this event.
6. At 5:30PM the Methodist church will be holding a church supper with all the fixings that any old time downeast bean supper should have. And like with any good supper it should include dessert and how could you go wrong with their strawberry shortcake ! 
7. At 9:15PM, enjoy the fireworks over the bay sponsored by R. H. Foster.
