Penobscot Vehicle Registration Notice

Recently the Penobscot Town Office staff have been contacted by the Castine Town Office to ask that we remind residents that Castine cannot register Penobscot resident vehicles. In the past it seems that there were exceptions made but that it is no longer the case. This is also true for the Town of Orland and the Town of Blue Hill. Registration needs to be completed at the Penobscot Town Office. Please do not go to another town to do this, as you will be turned away.

Note: Penobscot residents can go to the Sedgwick Town Office to get new license plates and to complete a car registration - however, excise tax must be paid in Penobscot and paid before going to Sedgwick. There are also some registration renewal options available via Rapid Renewal at www. maine.gov.
