Penobscot Day

Taking place on the second Saturday in July each year, Penobscot Day is a town-wide event with something of interest for everyone. The excitement begins at the Penobscot Historical Society with a breakfast and a first look at the huge yard sale, which lasts all day long. During the day, there is a parade through town, children’s games at the school, lunch and a silent auction at the Historical Society, and a barbecue lunch at the Fire Department. In the evening, there is a dinner at the Methodist Church, music behind the Bayview Takeout and an impressive display of fireworks to top everything off. This is an event not to be missed!
The Penobscot Day organizing committee coordinator is Alden Blodgett. Rick Leighton is treasurer and Jon Albrecht is Secretary.
Committees are:
Publicity chaired by Jon Albrecht
Parade chaired by Eric Ream
Fireworks co-chaired by Alden Blodgett and Jan McKay
